It's still one of the best looking Ferraris.

yes sir!
unfortunately for me and my bank account, it may be 'just a Fiat' but it's priced like a Ferrari ($300k and up these days). so i'm going to have to wait a while before i can buy one.

I absolutely LOVE the Dino's! I watch Chasing Classic Cars every week in hopes there's a Dino that shows up at some point!

Anyone who calls it "just a Fiat" is a moron and should be discarded with immediately.

one of my earliest memories is my Dad's mate rocking up in a Dino. I didn't know what it was for years until I found the photo.
He got it in the late 80's when no one wanted them, and sold it in the early 90's when they started gaining interest again, he made a tidy profit but not anything like what they go for now days. He's not totally bothered, his collection is pretty damn sweet as it is.

Back on the late 70s I used to circle all the Dino ads ino the back of R&T for my dad to find. I wanted him to ditch the E-Type, and get one.
Back then, they were just the "last model Ferrari" and were trading in the low-mid $20s

It's a Ferrari Dino . Not to be confused with Fiat Dinos (which were also gorgeous on their own right).
Enzo Ferrari branded V6 Ferraris as Dinos after his late son who proposed Ferrari's racing V6 development in the first place, partly to distinguish "lesser" V6s from V12 road cars the company was known for. The V6s, which were eventually manufactured by Fiat, were also put in Fiat's cars as part of a co-production agreement, which were also named Dino so that Ferrari could pass homologation requirements for a racing series.
The 206 GT was more Ferrari than the 914 and the 924 were Porsches.

As someone else has posted the V6 engines were initially manufactured by Ferrari but later by Fiat, who put them in their own car, also named Dino for homologation reasons. Stupid, but that's where it comes from.
